Reverend Doctor Leonard L. Favorite Sr.
The Reverend Doctor Leonard L. Favorite, Sr., provides Christian leadership as Senior Pastor of Outreach Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. In addition to his pastoral duties, he serves as an instructor in the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., Congress of Christian Education and Director of Spiritual Care in the Office of Disaster Management. Dr. Favorite also serves as a team member on the American Red Cross Spiritual Care Task Force in Washington D.C.
A native of Vacherie, Louisiana, he was licensed by the First Baptist Church of Vacherie, Louisiana and ordained by the Southern District Baptist Association of Arizona. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Calvary Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts and Doctor of Christian Counseling Degrees from Cornerstone University. He has seven units of Clinical Pastoral Education with the National Association of Clinical Pastoral Education and has completed Biblical studies at Louisiana Baptist College, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Trinity Theological Seminary. Dr. Favorite also holds Certifications in Pastoral Counseling from the American Academy of Bereavement, the Therapon Institute and the National Association of Christian Counselors. He is a clinical member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, the African American Association of Pastoral Counselors and he is a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Dr. Favorite is author of two books, The Wonderful Counselor and Solutions for the Soul. His soul care includes reading, running, golf and preaching.
